Chara Studio was born in 2022, during our founder Laura’s maternity leave. The idea was inspired by the coastal charm and ocean vibes of Waterford, Ireland, where Laura grew up. We’re here to be your one-stop shop for playful glassware, adventure-inspired art prints, and memorable gifts.

How we started
Laura grew up on the coast of Ireland, and she's brought her love of the seaside to London.
While on maternity leave, Laura envisioned and curated a range of products that could seamlessly transport the essence of the seaside into your home, each piece is carefully designed and selected to bring a pop of fun and personality. Laura's passion? Bringing magic to your home. She noticed the market lacked products that capture both personality and coastal nostalgia.

Why “Chara Studio”
'Chara' means 'friend' in Gaelic, and it's a nod to our founder Laura's Irish roots. It felt just right. The Irish are known for their warm, welcoming spirit where friendship is cherished. We wanted to bring a slice of that cozy, friendly feeling to our brand. It's about making everyone feel like an old friend. We create that comfortable, inviting vibe in your space, just like good friends do. It's a name that not only embodies the essence of coastal living but embraces the idea that every customer is a cherished friend. Say hey to Laura, the creative force behind Chara Studio. Born and raised near the beach in Waterford, Ireland, she's always had a thing for coastal vibes. With a bit of a travel bug, Laura loves traveling to cool spots and collecting memories along the way.
Chara Studio? Think of it as Laura's cozy corner where she curates and designs stuff inspired by her love for the beach and all her travels. It's all about connection, Laura believes in bringing people closer together. And so Chara Studio was born.
